Since 1964, the magic of music has always fascinated
the founder of Mike Carey Music Co. Starting out by
learning harmonica from his father on the front porch
of their modest Michigan home, Mike soon started
filling the house with musical instruments of all types.
No classmate was safe from being invited to an
impromptu jam which included instruments such as
oatmeal box drums, coffee can lid cymbals, washtub
basses or any other household product turned into
musical instruments. A couple of years later, Mike
would begin a decade long study of the accordion.
This morphed to developing proficiency in many, many
instruments studied in college and performed
world-wide. In 1995, Mike sought to fill a void in
music retailing: integrity of product coupled with
experience to guide people into a wonderful life
enriched by making music. Today, Mike Carey Music
Co. is priveledged to educate over 300 students
weekly and over one thousand weekly visitors at their
location in Wyandotte, MI. Mike Carey Music Co.
